Car Insurance Toyota (Car Insurance). Why isnt the battery in my 89 ford ranger not chargeing? Why isnt the battery in my 89 ford ranger not chargeing? I replaced the alternator and also had the battery checked by NAPA and they said it was good. Can anyone help me? well sometimes corrosion builds up inside the battery cables, particularly the negative,or black cable, loosen the bolt and inspect the inside if its dull and black, that's corrosion that builds up thick enough to stop battery from taking a charge, Use a short wire brush, with baking soda and water. If that's not handy a butter knife, a can of soda like mt dew, or coke or pepsi, anything with carbonation will work great , but pour a little on and scrape the terminal until its shiny. If you have a terminal cleaner, use it and soda but get the connection as shiny as possible. leave black off, clean the red which is usually much less corrosion, put red on, then the black cable, If you have a multi meter, you should be able to read the voltage across the poles with the engine running from the alternator. check your voltage regulator....you could have gotten a bad alternator.. could be that the guy who checked it did not, do a good job. Guarantee that they gave you a bad alternator. Each year - 1.6 million alternators and starters are replaced, when it was the battery or battery connections. Take the battery elsewhere and have them check it. Chances are the battery is on its last leg and barely passed the first test. Normally, the cause for a battery not charging or not holding a charge (assuming it is known that the alternator is good) is because there could be a corroded, cracked, or otherwise worn cell inside it. Also, check your battery cables for corrosion and maybe do a resistance test on the cables to see if current passes through them easily or not. Auto parts : Spark Plug Adapter Acura 1995 . Toyota . How to Replace a Cabin Filter in a 2002 Dodge CaravanDodge suggests that you change your cabin air filter every 15,000 miles. With a 2002 Dodge Caravan, this can be quite tricky, as not all Dodge Caravans have cabin air filters. The tricky part about this is that it's true no matter what your trim package or year. Some 2002 Caravans will have the filter, while others will not. Most of the Caravans with the 3.3-liter V6 engine will not have the filter (although some do), while those with the 4-cylinder most likely will contain the cabin air filter. Luckily, it's very easy to reach your hand under the dash and find out if you have one. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need New cabin air filter Step by Step : 1 Reach under the dash on the passenger side and feel for the cabin air filter access door. You'll find this close to the center console, on the left side of the glove box and under the dash. 2 Unlock the filter door by pulling the slide bar toward you until the door drops towards the floor board. 3 Remove the door completely by sliding it toward you until it pops off. 4 Pull straight down on the air filter to release it. 5 Insert the new air filter in its place. Ensure that the arrow on the new air filter is pointed toward the center of the vehicle. 6 Replace the door by sliding it back in place. 7 Slide the door back by pushing it toward the hood of the car. Once you can't push it back anymore, push the door up so that it locks itself, and the new air filter, in place.
Toyota . How to Change the Cabin Air Replacement Filter in a 2002 Honda OdysseyThe 2002 Honda Odyssey uses an air filter to pull out any debris or contaminants that may get sucked in from the air conditioner blower motor. The filter helps to ensure that the air quality in the van is clean and free from dust, pollen or other irritants that might invade the passenger compartment. Replacing the filter should only take 30 minutes and is something even the less mechanically inclined can accomplish without trouble. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Flat-tip screwdriver Phillips-head screwdriver Socket set Socket wrench New cabin air filter Step by Step : 1 Pry the passenger-side dash cover off with a flat-tip screwdriver. The dash cover is held on by plastic clips that lock it to the dash. 2 Open the glove box and unscrew the four screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pry the hooks on the side of the glove box away from the glove box by hand. 3 Unbolt the glove box compartment frame by removing the two bolts at the bottom of the frame with a socket wrench. Pull the frame out from the dash assembly. This will make access to the filter simpler. 4 Remove the filter cover by hand. The filter cover will pull away from the assembly. 5 Slide the air filter out from the housing. Vacuum out the filter assembly to remove any dust or debris. Replace with a new filter. 6 Pop the cover back on to the housing. The cover will lock in place. 7 Bolt the glove compartment frame back to the dash assembly. Tighten the bolts with a socket wrench. 8 Position the glove box back in until it locks in place. Screw the four screws at the bottom with a Phillips-head screwdriver. 9 Pop the dash in place. Ensure the dash locks in place. Tips & Warnings Some models have a plastic strap that runs behind the glove box. This strap can be sliced with a razor knife as it serves no purpose but can cause interference with the cabin air filter. *Your first line of defense against unnecessary transmission work is to have your automatic transmission serviced periodically, according to the manufac turer's recommendations (usually around every 24,000 miles). Your second line of defense is to understand what the basic kinds of transmission work involve. Here are the various types of work that your vehicle may require and what each of them entails: If your transmission needs servicing: • The transmission fluid should be changed, if necessary. 799

Chapter 17: What to Do If Your Transmission Stops Running Smoothly " If your transmission must be replaced: The old transmission must be removed and a new one installed. You do have an option as to whether you replace it with a used, rebuilt, or new transmission. I make the distinction between used and rebuilt because you can buy a transmission from a wrecking yard that has salvaged one designed for your vehicle's year, make, and model. This option is cheap, but risky. Or you can find a rebuilt one that has been salvaged and then completely refurbished and warranted for at least three months. These cost a bit more, but you get a chance to make sure that the thing is in good working order. Occasionally, gearshifts may become hard to move. This problem can happen if the gearshift linkage, which connects the shift lever to the rods that go to the transmission, needs adjustment, lubrication, or minor repair. These repairs aren't expensive and should certainly be investigated before you let anyone talk you into major transmission work. Toyota . What is the ticket symbol for enterprise car rental?
